The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford is a member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III a member of the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) and the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Association (ECAC). Athletics is a fundamental part of the multi-dimensional educational experience offered at the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford. The purpose of the Panther intercollegiate athletic program is to allow an equal opportunity for all participants to develop their potential as student-athletes in a collegial setting. This setting seeks to provide ways in which each person may grow emotionally, socially, and intellectually. Conference coaches, team members and institutional staff members must exhibit professional decorum in dealings with other coaches, officials, players, institutional staff members, spectators, and members of the media. It is the responsibility of conference coaches and administrators to uphold all NCAA rules and conference regulations, and to enforce such rules and regulations, along with fair play with their students athletes and staff members. In addition, the student-athlete has the opportunity to travel, represent the university and learn to be a contributing member of the team.

All eligible full-time undergraduate students are welcome to try out for any intercollegiate team:

Women's Varsity Sports
Soccer, basketball, volleyball, softball, golf, and cross country.
Men's Varsity Sports
Soccer, basketball, baseball, golf and cross country.

In addition to these intercollegiate sports, a full complement of intramural, sport clubs, activity clubs, and recreational activities are offered.
Your success in the classroom is as important to us as your success on the field. As a result, every effort and opportunity is provided for the student-athlete to achieve a desirable balance between the dual, and often demanding, role of student and team member.
The gain achieved by being a student-athlete is not without some sacrifice. As a team member, one may lose some individual rights and privileges. This is to be expected when the team members accept policies of the program. This handbook will serve to outline some of these policies and act as a guide for appropriate behavior.
