 Swim Team 2008

2008-09 Panthers -- First Row (left to right): Jacob Dewey, Rebecca Carlson, Drew Shaffer, and Cooper Ware. Second Row: Joseph Kelly, and Rachel Miklolsey. Third Row: Joanne Conde, Rachel Davis, Jacob DeVolder, Roland Cross, Anne Morgan, Sara Meingossner, Morgan Kinville, and Cameron Lanich. Fourth Row: Head Coach Ed Bahan, Tony Mazza, Nick Bronder, Kevin Ireland, Andy Sarbak, Colin Martinez, Eric Greenawalt, Mike Dixon, and Assistant Coach Pan Digel.

Last year the Pitt-Bradford swim program had barely enough athletes to field a baseball team without the designated hitter.

The numbers have swelled from nine to 21 as head coach Ed Bahan and the Panthers swim team open the 2008-09 campaign with the Pitt-Bradford Panther Relays on Saturday.

In 2007-08 there were just six men and three women on the squad, which translated into an automatic loss of points in many of the relay events.

“We knew going into last season we didn’t have the numbers to win many or any meets,” said Bahan, the second-year head coach. “That says a lot for the positive attitude and dedication of the athletes last year. We did set 36 new school records.”
