Sports Medicine Major

Program Name: Sports Medicine

Program Designation: B.S.

Program Contact: Mr. Mark Kelley

Academic Division: Biological and Health Sciences

Program Description:

Are you one of those people who works hard to stay fit and healthy? Do you want to help others do the same? Our sports medicine degree will help you get there.

You’ll learn about nutrition, how to evaluate athletic injuries, exercise physiology and strength training. You’ll also get experience through internships and other opportunities outside of class. That’s the kind of experience employers are looking for. Before they graduated, some of our students were physical therapy assistants at a local rehab clinic. And they assisted at the local hospital’s cardiac rehabilitation center.

With a sports medicine degree, you’ll have many career choices. Be a corporate fitness director. Work as a personal trainer. Be a group exercise instructor. Work at a cardiopulmonary rehab center. Or, take what you know and go to graduate school.
