Our athletic coaching minor is designed to prepare you for a career in sport coaching.  Our comprehensive program combines a liberal arts background with specialized courses that focus on the psychological, legal, business, and coaching practices aspects related to coaching.

Course Requirements in the Minor

• INTRODUCTION TO SPORTS MEDICINE
• PSYCHOLOGY OF SPORT
• PRINCIPLES, ETHICS, AND PRACTICES IN COACHING
• COACHING INTERNSHIP(1-3 cr)
• ISSUES IN LEGAL LIABILITY IN SPORT, RECREATION AND EXERCISE SCIENCE

Total Credits for Minor: 13-15

If you're majoring in either Sport and Recreation Management or Sports Medicine you need to take the following additional courses to earn a minor in athletic coaching:
