Academic Focus:

Dr. Zhao's research interests are in the areas of computer networks, telecommunication systems, information security, theory and application of cryptography. He is also interested in object-oriented design and implementation of software systems, with abundant experience from the industry.

 


Short Bio:

Dr. Zhao received his B.Sc degree in Computer Science from Shandong University, China, and M.Sc degree in Telecommunication Software from Helsinki University of Technology, Finland, in 1992 and 2005 respectively. He completed his Ph.D degree from the School of Computer Science at the University of Windsor, Canada in 2012. Before joining the University of Pittsburgh in 2016, Dr. Zhao worked as lecturer at Bishop's University and Vanier College in Canada. He also has rich experience in telecommunication and software industry, having worked as software developer at VMWare, Mitel, Ericsson, and Nuance, in Finland and Canada. In his spare time, Shushan likes field&track sports and swimming.
