Begun in 2011, the LGBT Advisory Committee is comprised of faculty, staff, students, and community members, who have an interest in furthering LGBT issues at Pitt Bradford and the surrounding community.
The committee meets twice a semester to assess the LGBT climate and makes recommendations on how to have a more inclusive campus.

Campus Pride Five Star Index
Annually the committee uses the national Campus Pride organization's
Five Star Rating system to assess the campus climate. We earned 3 1/2 stars out of 5, better than about half of the PA schools listed. However, we're working hard to improve our rating in the future.
Each semester for the past seven years the committee has offered SafeZone Training for faculty, staff, students, and departments & offices. This 90 minute program prepares people to be an ally to the LGBT community. Those completing the program can display the SafeZone logo in their office as a symbol of their support and openness to having discussions.
Annual Drag Show
Residence Life has sponsored the annual Drag Show for seven years. This popular campus-wide event is free and will be held Wednesday, March 14 in the University Room (the March Midnight Breakfast will follow the event). Look for more information in March.
Pride Alliance, our LGBT student group, has been around since 1994, and is a great resource for the students. Advisors are Dr. Helma de Vries-Jordan & Dr. Ron Binder. Their web site is:
